So the Pyranha Jed...

Postby Transplant » Thu Mar 08, 2012 1:45 pm

Hey all,

So the Jed has been down to Dartfest and to NSR, I was wondering if anyone had demo'd the boat and has any feedback about it for those of us who are thinking about buying a new playboat in the coming months.

If anyone has any feedback on the kayak (negatives and positives please) could you please let me know!

Many thanks

Adam

I paddled it at NSR, and I'm by no means a good playboater, but in my opinion, I thought it was the poor relation of the Wavesport Project X, which is also cheaper.

Interesting, we only signed off the Small Jed yesterday, so how your boss could have one I don't know!

Medium Jed Demos are currently available at Kayaks North West, Desperate Measures and White Water the Canoe Center. With more shipping very soon.

Enjoy!

Thanks for the update Liz, is the Large in production yet as I'm kind of sitting on the fence between the two sizes.

Cheers

The Jed is surprisingly stable in end, its a bit of a cartwheel machine. The slicyness means it doesn't have quite as much pop for loops as my Molan, but then again I didn't have the overthruster that comes as standard with me.

On a wave the Jed is super quick, nice easy edge transfers and spins really smoothly.

Really looking forward to getting it onto a big wave and getting it to fly in the meanwhile here are a couple of pics.

Isnt that one of the traits of the molan though, its a very bouyant in the ends and hence isnt as easy as some other boats to cartwheel/ doublepump, but can loop better?

Yep, but that is the boat I am most used to, so made that comparison.
