Chile hints and tips
10 days until a month in Chile- does anyone have any useful do's, don'ts, recommendations or suggestions? I'm meeting 3 friends in Santiago and we're taking a bus to Pucon where a hired Jefe will be waiting, that's all I know so far... :-)

Don't make it too hot, or you will end up regretting it the next day.
Mixed beans add a bit of varierty.
Ha! Have an awesome time out there dude, give me a bell when you are back, did someone say Cheddar 7?

Was down in pucon nov and dec of last year it a rily nice chilled town a very esey to hock up with some people a good place to start is the mummers and taps bar (properly have not spelled that right) also try kayak chill and kayak pucon, they will no who is about and kayak chill will do you shuttles to rivers if you need them. We bought a truck down there but there are a few places around town to rent. but be careful as they will properly try and rip you off.
As for rivers eveything down there is alsom but if you can get on the nervardos that is in my opinion one of the best down there.
if you have any questions then pm me and I will see if I can help.
Hope this helps.
Nick

Hi John
As Nick says Mamas & tapas is a good bar to meet paddlers, Kayak Chile (run by Ben from Exeter) & Kayak Pucon (Rodrigo, Chile) both have offices on the main street. Rental is expensive in Pucon itself, but it is the best place to meet paddlers (rivers around Santiago are dirty glacier melt & generally only paddlers around at the weekend). Buy the guidebook, but don't believe everything it says...
