Sat Nav Updates

The Welsh river POI file has been updated to include all the rivers in the online Chris Sladden Welsh Rivers guidebook. A huge thanks to Slim Turnbull for completing it and sending it over.

I have also added the files in an Excel format, that contains the name, longitude and latitude of each point. This can be used in other applications, GPS receivers where TomTom files are of no use.

Remember, If you know of any rivers not included, then please add them through the www.paddlesup.co.uk website.

TomTOM Point of Interest files: East Mids and Lake District

Postby slim » Sun Feb 17, 2008 4:55 pm

I now have TomTom Point of Interest (POI) files available for brown water boating in the East Midlands (if that's your thing?); and possibly of more interest to most of you, The Lake District! Based on Stuart Millers excellent book White Water Lake District.

If I get stuck in a hotel working away from home again (boring beyond belief) I may have to do Scotland next, but don't hold your breath! I am hoping someone will beat me to it.

As a TomTom owner I apologise to those of you with different units, but I am sure Nathan Pearce (NPearce) will be able to help you out once he has his own copy. (Nathan: If you want the original spreadsheets then pm me)

These POI files can be found on here: www.hppcc.co.uk (see "TomTom POI Files" in the menu). If you spot any errors (I am sure there will be a few) then please let me know via pm.

Cheers

Hi Mountainboy, thanks for letting me know. Hmmm... this is odd? Is anyone else having a problem seeing the links? I can see them... I'll look tomorrow from my work pc. Do you see the Amazon links to the Welsh White Water and White Water Lake District books?

Try here

If you meant the paddlesup site, this might explain it:

http://www.paddlesup.co.uk/index.php?op ... &Itemid=47

Its not obvious, though, I was confused too!!
