Great idea James, if you can get the idea going it would be a fantastic event for Scottish kayaking.

Just as a suggestion though, have you considered a different venue ? The Etive is obviously water dependant which could be a large issue ?

This idea was raised about 4 or so years ago when I was living in the Fort by Jacko. He had made a provisional plan to arrange an extreme race on the 'end of the world' rapids on the Leven. There was a provisional agreement that a release would be made down the river to ensure a desirable flow.

This run is far more condensed, therefore better for spectators and media.

If you want to go ahead, the kinlochleven area is perfect, there is camping, an event venue and a pathway next to the falls for spectators.....
