Apparantly a hydro has been approved for Barle below Dulverton?not going to be great for the paddleing or fishing anyone know anything seems to have gone under or radar fishing groups are not happy dont think there has been any consultation with paddlers?Will try and find out some info.

Is it going to use the existing Dam/weir? If so it might not have much effect.

Having looked at some of the planning application documents it seems that the intention is to abstract a substantial proportion of the flow. However this proportion will vary depending on the water level in the river.
Concerns have been raised about the flow rate into the screen possibly causing entrapment against the screen at the head of the screw. I haven’t looked in enough detail at the application to see if it has been addressed. Will this concern have to be dealt with under existing H&S / CDM legislation?
