If you just fancy an evening paddle there are various places I have found to get in on the wey.

If you go down the A281 and take the road left at Shalford towards peasmarsh the road goes over the wey and you can park on the left on a wide verge. They have just redone the eroded bank so it is now easy to get in and out. I have paddled to the pub in Goldelming (although they arent very friendly) and also the other way into guildford and crossed over into the old river course there is a pub there.

The other place to get in is in Woodbridge meadow carpark. From the centre of guildford if you go down the road with the station main enterance on it and keep going you go round a sharp right hand bend with tops tiles on the corrner keep going you can either park in the public carpark (it has a heigh restriction) or you can turn into the industrial estate where AcornIT is on the corrner and park discreatly (at weekends there is noone about) and paddle either way.

Why was the bank eroded? It wasn't, perhaps, due to repeated launching and landing of kayaks and canoes, was it? :-)
