The RDCP web cam is up and running , well sort of it's a bit grainy so not sure if the ladder is from a budgie cage. http://riverdart.co.uk/Kayakers/dartcam.html

If the weather forecast is correct? Then Sunday morning looks ok for low/medium levels.

I doubt it will be up tomorrow.

We left around 6 and it was on the ledge, probably coming close to peaking.

Also a heads up, there is a fairly big new tree across the river on the last mile - on the left hand bend with the cliff in front. We could get round/through it at a low level so shouldnt cause any big problems unless you're a swimmer.

Is this tree on the Loop section? I'm guessing it's on Spindryer? Will it cause problems at higher levels? I'm running a group down there in a few weeks time - would be good to have some more info if possible.

Cheers,

Simon

The Dart is now 6 inches below the slab and will drop too low without anymore rain.

Forecast looks good for tomorrow afternoon.

However, it seems to be changing on an almost hourly basis.

Despite rain gauges on Cornish & Devon coast showing 25 & 30mm today, Dartcom only made it to 13mm & the Dart didn't get anywhere near the ledge.

Looks like we'll have to wait until next week's heavy rain forecast.

No, I mean the forecast of heavy rain for next week! You can tell it's rained - the RiverDart webcam has packed up again.

I'm posting on the twitter thing as tavy_paddler. I estimated 6 inches below the highest point earlier but a 45 min later message estimated an inch.

We use the lowest part of the slab upstream of the steps. The bit that goes in the water first.

Ben, Dartcam show its risen a bit so I'm gonna head out and take a look, will aim to be at Newbridge around 1. Feel free to come along if you want, will try fit a low water upper run in if possible.

I'm a bit confused by the above thread, I will be around Dartmoor this weekend with a boat and am wondering whether a low water run of the upper dart and/or lyn would be possible. I know levels are low and that there is a little bit of rain forecast but will it dissappear due to recently dry moors or provide enough for low water boating?

Not looking great for the weekend - Dart up now but no way will it hold for the weekend with the rain forecast. South wales looks a better bet at the mo.

Scrub that - the forecast keeps changing and now show mucho rain for sat.

On the ledge at about 1pm today, same level at 4pm, but dropping. Great "havn't been in a boat in months" run of the upper. Bit of rain for the weekend (likely) and it will be sweet. Shame, I have to go to Wales (to paddle)

Currently (about 3ish) it looked to be about 2-3 inches below the ledge from a quick glance as I went over the bridge.
