Ahhh that's not so good Woodsy :-/
The park rangers are keen to keep the river 'natural' so I don;t think they'd be happy with a chain saw massacre session. Maybe a late night mission under the moonlight?
It's a good little section on the door step to keep the mind set of the steeper stuff fresh-ish though wouldn't you agree?

Re: RIVER SPODDEN
My mission for (early) next year,
Have a word (professionally as someone working in the Open Spaces sector in the NW) with the relevant wardens and bosses re making all open spaces a recreational opportunity for all sectors of the community! And then blissfuly swim down the bugger whilst watching me kayak happily make its way unencumbered without a stupid paddler in it!!!! Rick have you any names (or descriptions) of said wardens to kick off the 'dialogue'?
Watch this space.
Thanks,
Mark.

Re: RIVER SPODDEN
If it was tree free it would certainly be a useful local run.
Always worth broaching the subject with the relevant men in suits.
