Not sure if this has already been mentioned or how long its been there but large tree stump is blocking the final rapid in the 1st gorge above the road bridge on the lune. Mandatory portage at low levels.

if its the big tree stump wedged in what is known as John's Stone rapid it is nowhere near the 1st gorge but the rapid just above the road bridge. Take care.

The rapid & tree are just about visible from bridge that crosses the river heading into SedberghJust been up for a quick look & about a foot showing. You can paddle either side of it without too much of an issue (in some ways it appears to have made the river right route easier ?) really would n't want to risk a swim above it though !!
Born to paddle................forced to work.

tried to have a go at it with the chainsaw this afternoon but river level to high. will have another go when it drops but the blockage is now marked with a yellow, fluorescent work vest which is visible from a hundred feet or so upstream, just river left of centre. Folks with good maneuvering skills (and reflexes) might be able to get round it river right close as poss to the large angled slab of rock but watch your paddle
