Sea Kayak Demonstration Day
Sat 25th June 2011
Come and test sea kayaks and yourself?
A weekend of events in North Northumberland with Active4seasons and the Coquet Canoe Club Race
Active4seasons are hosting a sea kayak Demo day based in North Northumberland
Kayak manufacturers’ attending include Tiderace, P & H, Valley/Northshore and Prijon.
Paddles from Aquabound, Epic and Mitchell should also be available to try.
It would be very helpful if anyone who is interested in a demo contacts me in advance through the website (http://www.active4seasons.co.uk) and we can then try and ensure we have that boat for you to try and can book a slot so you are not waiting around on the day!
Sat Evening:
In the evening we have invited the famous Jimski to tell us about his new book:
Sea Kayaking in Northern England & the Isle of Man
Join Jim as he describes the shores and coasts of Northern England and the Isle of Man. The talk will include fascinating adventure anecdotes, stunning photography, video clips, historical folk tales, and most importantly where to buy the best pie, chips and beer.
Jim will also be selling and signing copies of his book, 'Northern England & Isle of Man', which the talk is based on.
Sunday 26th:
Coquet Canoe Club run their ‘Round the Island Race’
This event is open to all and includes different distances and classes – see the following website for more information:
http://www.seakayakingnorthumberland.co.uk/Race.html
Please contact me to book a kayak demo or to book a place at the book launch. Active4seasons will be asking for a donation to cover the cost of putting on the demo and evening entertainment, any left over monies will go to the Marine Conservation Society. admin@active4seasons.wanadoo.co.uk

Looks like we might have to postpone this unless there is a bit more interest soon? Nobody out there want to come and try some kayaks? I realise there is the 7 bridges race on the Tyne - what if I could get the boats down that way somewhere?
Let me know,
Thanks
Plan X:
With the prospect of light winds and gentle swell we anticipate good conditions for the Sea Kayak demo session this Saturday. We will be on Beadnell Beach (at the southern end of Beadnell village, around 2 miles south of Seahouses) from 10am to 3pm with plenty of boats, padlles and kit for you to try out.
During the day (weather permitting) there will be the chance of surf sessions or a short guided trip along the nearby coastline with a pub stop for lunch. For more advanced paddlers there is the possibility of a short trip to the Inner Farne to see the birds and seals.
In the evening, from 6.45pm at The Coquet Shorebased Trust hut in Amble, Jim Krawiecki will be giving a talk and signing copies of his new guidebook 'Northern England & Isle of Man'. The talk will feature a slide show with stunning photography, adventure anecdotes, video clips, historical folk tales, and most importantly where to buy the best pie, chips and beer.
Bring your own refreshments - See you there!
