Message from Annette and Phil the organisers... marine forecast is for up to F8 tomorrow now, so not surprised...
Dear All
We have discussed tomorrow's weather in detail with Met Office (and taken their advice). Wind in morning is 35mph in-shore, forecast to drop after 12 noon. Unfortunately this means that the "Seaquest Event" cannot take place. I know quite a few of you are travelling to Ravenglass and can cope with challenging conditions. We will therefore still meet on beach tomorrow at original times and go for a Group Paddle up Esk or a walk along Esk & then back through Muncaster Castle (which is beautifull at moment with flowers).
Weather is currently forecast to be better on Sunday so we will put out check points today and run the event on Sunday for those who can make it.
As I hope you understand, safety must come first, and kayaking is always weather dependent.
Regards
Annette & Phil
