Thanks to Nick and Matt for putting on this event - it was great!
Probably the shortest distance sea kayak race out there, but one that packs more punch and adrenalin than any other.
Immensely enjoyable day, please run this event again next year - its got to be the most exciting sea kayak race around, both for paddlers and spectators.

So Aled, what's the story behind this lean mean paddling machine that you've been seen in? Just a prototype or is it heading for production?

Yeah, just after I posted here, I saw that link on facebook.... Aled just needs to beat some of John's records to give it some publicity!

I loved the video and if no one else has tried to kill me then I could be up there next year in my new Point 65 XP 18.

I too loved the video and wondered why I hadn't entered.....then I remembered that the pre-event blurb mentioned throwing yourself in the water - admittedly only for a quick roll - but I didn't fancy getting wet on purpose. Nobody looked that wet on the video, so was the start line rolling demonstration actually required in the end?

It was a fairly cold and blustery day... so the "eskimo roll at the start" was put to the vote - guess what? We stayed dry...
