A message from Peter Carter of Stour Valley Canoe Club:
The Stour Descent (Sunday 6th December 2009) is cancelled due to very high water levels.
The course is flooded and impassable. Recent heavy rain is causing water levels to continue to rise.
Cheques for race fees will be returned in due course.

My sentiments exactly.
Incredibly frustrating.
The cancellation of this race is never a cop-out either. There is a very clear cut-off point: above a certain river level the river simply flows [u]through[u] the bridges and trees rather than under them.
