Junior wing paddles - which ones?

OK, so really young kids are now using Guppy paddles (Knysa?) and the older ones are using Brasca 4s or similar - does anyone know of anything inbetween? Is there any need for an intermediate or do they move straight from Guppies to Brasca 4s?

Dunno mate. Having only just returned to the sport I don't really know the paddles that you are talking about. However, juniors used to sometimes use wing flight paddles, the same as the whitewater racers used. These had a smaller blade area than the other makes at the time but I don't know if they are even still available or how they compare to the models that you mentioned. Might be worth some further investigation though.

Junior Wing paddles

Check out this artical from the Worldclass web site

worldclasscanoeing.org.uk the artical is on racing-paddles

You will see that Braca have 2 junor sizes "Kids" & "Childern" - we has youngsters who are using both - make sure that the shaft is adjustable
and it is set with the total paddle length as long as can be handled to allow for extending them later.
