River Cam yesterday evening.

I'm planning to do a club trip on the River Cam so I took the chance of going over to the Cambridge area after work to study the put-in area. Anyway it was a lovely evening so I sat on the bench eating some chips watching the rowers going up and down, when 2 kayaks and a canoe approached and started to get out at the bank in front of me.

The canoe with 2 people in one guy one woman just went straight over into the water. Wow. People came running to give them help, they started pulling out rucksacks, a handbag and other stuff. All the iphones got wet and these people were in their ordinary clothing. Very very sad, but alas also so very funny.

I myself am a kayakist (or is it kayaker), but have canoed on occasions though admit to going over in the boat while ducking and avoiding tree branches.
