Some (attempted) Sailing on the River Lea

Some (attempted) sailing on the River Lea, helps if you have some wind and that the wind doesn't run across the river:

Some interesting pics, thanks for posting.

Out of interest are they SP3 's you are using and if so do you use them for club/group? Considering getting some for group use and interested in hearing how they work for this purpose.

Sorry Elveys! Haven't been checking in this particular section.

We've got 3 Prospectors at HCC, We also use 2 Mad River Legends & have 1 old town camper.

I'd say they work alright as club boats! I couldn't even paddle in a striaght line 6 weekends ago, now I'm getting reasonably proficient, we were poling this weekend!

Hi Martin,

Many of us would regard wind across the river as ideal... but if you want to do this effectively please get in touch with the OCSG: you'll find folk who have sailed VERY effectively in open canoes like your Prospectors, Legends and Old Town Camper.

I can't embed video, but you might find these links of interest:
If you want to work out how to sail really effectively, you could try one of the national meets :)
