Time to buy a new boat
Yes, its new boat time, my lump sum from early retirement is in the bank - well very nearly! Can't make my mind up. I quite fancy the Mad River Freedom Solo RX. The boat needs to cope with white water touring, eg. the Spey and the occasional mad fling down some of the mid wales rivers. Must be RX but I don't know much about Kelvar. Open to suggestions guys and will bow to superior knowledge.

Yes, come on Jerry, will it be the S6 or the Mad River Freedom. That must be a difficult choice.
'Scuse me for spreading rumours but I've heard it with no authority whatsoever that the plastic on the Esquif is a bit delicate. I get the impression the NovaCraft have a similar build-up. Probably lighter though and may just suit your purpose.
Worth a demo I should say.

Nova Canoes
Looked at Nova canoes at the Canoe Show, impressed! Nice boats. I'll probably buy one from them. Was disappointed that there were not more major manufacturers at the schow. Anyone elso feel that?

Show was a disapointment as well.
Nova Craft and some of the Esquifs are made in Roylex LITE, which has the result that they aren't quite so whitewater proof, but are so much easier to portage. htis might be why they aren't quite as strong
