Edited: this signature reminded me of a couple of people I know who switched to canoe when they couldn't keep up with their mates in kayaks...

No, as a C-boater I feel obligated to take my best shot at everything they (and I) can do in a kayak in a canoe; that might be related to being in a uni club, or the fact that I always preffered to paddle canoe than kayak. & Ironically if I want to compete with my mates, my C-1 paddling is actually better than my K-1 (in terms of freestyle at least).

My mission for the summer after uganda, is to become confident peforming boat based rescues from my C-1's so I can use them as a coaching platform.
